Anyway, I'm actually adjusting to life "on my own" pretty well! I have hardly spent any money, which (as you all should know) is DIFFICULT for me. And I'm actually eating food. As in not junk that I bought at the store. Like, my meal plan! It's quite an accomplishment if I do say so myself. And just an fyi, the food here is actually pretty bomb!
But seriously, let's get down to what this post is really about. I have a feeling some of you are definitely dying to see what my dorm looks like! Well folks, the wait is over!
Here, you can see my bed. This is where I sleep. There's not much more to say other than that.
This 'K' collage is my pride and joy. No, I'm kidding. But seriously, it took around an hour to create and I'm immensely proud of it!
My desk! It looks really neat in this picture. And want to know a secret? It actually has STAYED neat! Mom and Dad, I know you're impressed with that news!
This is my closet! Each of us has our own closet, which I am pleased about! It is probably surprising to a lot of you how little clothing I have right now. I don't really know how I'm surviving, but it's actually not that bad!
Shoes! Woooooooooo! They've actually been staying neat too! I'm kind of on a roll.
Our adorable dressers. And microwave. And fridge. And tv. And food stash. And recycling bin. THEY RECYCLE IN NEW YORK. It's very weird. Luckily my roommates are from Jersey and California, so they're keeping me on track! :P
Oh, hey, we've got a pretty cool view, too. My bed doesn't sit by the window like the other two, but I still see this lovely view every day!
And just to make you all more jealous... a close up!
Okay, that's all I have for tonight, folks! I feel like I've been saying folks a lot... Oh well. Anyway, I left my laundry drying downstairs, and it will be done in about 10 minutes, so I should probably head down there, so I don't have to sift through piles of clothes that finished drying and were discarded on the floor by fellow hall members. That has already happened to a guy on my floor today, but to be fair, he was late for his laundry. All's fair when you leave your laundry sitting in a dryer. Oh, the joys of college laundry systems. Anyway, I feel like I just spent way too long talking about my laundry!
I'll update after my first week of classes. Maybe sooner if something GREAT happens! Which, I'm sure is very possible!
Talk to you all soon! <3
ALSO! If you ever want to send me a care package or a cute letter through snail mail, please do NOT hesitate!

Sounds like you are adjusting very well. Be careful and have a wonderful adventure!!!! Love you Mom and Dad
ReplyDeleteYou haven't had you "aha moment" yet as we discussed? Because when you do I expect at least a text informing me it happened. It will happen!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am fairly certain I see shoes in that pic that were not selected in our shoe drat...
I am so glad you are adjusting well! Here is to your grand new adventure!
Chantile, I had a mini moment yesterday while walking home from class in the rain, but it didn't feel like one of those TRUE moments. So hopefully I didn't overlook my only potential "aha!" moment!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I bought 2 pairs of shoes here. The brown boots in the front (SO AMAZING) and the lighter brown heels with laces. I LOVE THEM.
I'll let you know about the "aha!" moment when it occurs though! (:
