Journey to the Eye of the Storm

Well, to say the beginning of my trip to NYU started badly would be an extreme understatement. Everything that could POSSIBLY go wrong, has. Let's recap what has happened thus far.

  • Arrive at McCarran Airport at 5:30am for a 6:30am flight.
  • Lady checking bags takes over 30 minutes to check in 2 people. There are still 2 people in front of us.
  • Finally, at approximately 6am, our bags are checked and we are on the way to security check.
  • After about 5 minutes in line, they request to check my carry on, delaying us another 10 minutes.
  • We managed to board with literally no time to spare, when we find out our flight isn't leaving until about 7:20, anyway.
  • We arrive in Phoenix at 8:05, for a connecting flight scheduled at 8:45, only to find out that we are delayed approximately 2 hours.
  • Now, it is 10:34 and we have yet to board due to Hurricane Irene rearing her ugly head.
  • We are slated to leave at 12:02. -____-
There is a chance our flight will be canceled, but as of right now, we are just delayed.

You know, I didn't anticipate this. Now, we won't arrive in New York until late tonight, if that. Also, we will miss seeing Rent. Today just hasn't been my day. But, you know, I'm making the best of it. I'm taking this opportunity to tell all of you of my first "adventure"!

Hopefully our flight boards soon and things get straightened out! I'm staying optimistic, even though there is no hope for the storm to get better soon. All I know, is if I can get through this and move in day during a hurricane, conquering snow and freshman year will be a breeze! ;D

Hasta la pasta, for now!
